January 2016:

Largest Cold/Hot Plates Updated with PWM Temperature Controller

TECA's largest cold/hot plates, the AHP-1800CPV (single plate) and AHP-1200DCP (dual plates each with independent temperature control) are recently updated to include a new PWM temperature controller. It includes fan speed control which enables the Cold/Hot Plates to slow the fans automatically, reducing noise, as the unit reaches its set point. Another added benefit is that there are now four independent PID settings for different temperature ranges. USB communication port is included and Labview VI examples are available.

   

The AHP-1800CPV is the largest cold/hot plate on the thermoelectric market. It has a plate size of 13.30" x 12.80" and is ideal for direct-contact cooling and heating in R&D, quality control, manufacturing, laboratory and life science applications. The AHP-1200DCP is a dual cold/hot plate. Each plate is 13.30" x 6.37" and each plate has its own temperature controller.

This product has been used successfully in thermal preference research studies.

New Accessory Available for Mounting Heavy Air Conditioners

As customer demand for thermoelectric cooling technology has grown, TECA has responded. We now offer larger than ever enclosure coolers with performance ratings up to 6,000 BTU/hr.

In the example image below, Lift Assist part number ALV-2200 is shown on our AHP-6200 Air Conditioner:

More powerful air conditioners are of course heavier and TECA has created an accessory to assist with mounting larger units. Using the Lift Assist, the air conditioner can be placed in the mounting hole more safely, with fewer hands and with better accuracy. The Lift Assist is available on units over 60 pounds. The Lift Assist accessory features sturdy, stainless steel construction.

 

November 2015:

TECA Corporation's TLC-900 Bench Top Liquid Chiller has been upgraded with a Pulse Width Modulating (PWM) controller incorporating four PID temperature ranges for improved temperature control over a wide temperature range. USB communications, operational and data logging software are standard. A new more physically rugged design lends the product increased durability for a wider variety of application environments.

The TLC-900 Bench Top Liquid Chiller still offers precision liquid cooling and heating utilizing Peltier technology (reliable and maintenance free) with 4 pump options to meet a wide range of flow requirements in applications from laboratory, industry and manufacturing. October 2015:

Internal Mount a New Option for Air Conditioners

When enclosure cooling is needed but space requirements do not allow for an air conditioner to be protruding outside of the enclosure, TECA has a line of "Internal Mount" coolers to do the job. Five new air conditioner series offer horizontal or vertical mounting internal to the enclosure. Performance rating range from 155 BTU/hr to 390 BTU/hr. As with all TECA air conditioners, versions for temperature control and different environment ratings are available. There are no refrigerants or compressors and no moving parts other than the fans. Thermoelectric cooling is reliable and nearly maintenance free, making these new enclosure coolers the perfect solution for remote or hard to access areas.

 

August 2015:

RLC-900 & RLC-1800 Liquid Chillers Redesigned

Rack Mounted Liquid Chiller Models RLC-900 and RLC-1800 are newly redesigned. The water fittings are now in the front as well as the back with the convenience of the end user in mind. Whether the chillers are mounted internally or externally, the user can access water inlet and outlet hoses from either end of the chiller. This can help save space, makes the chiller easier to use and increases the versatility of the product.

Also new to the updated design in the inclusion of a Pulse Width Modulating (PWM) controller. It includes fan speed control which enables the chillers to slow the fan automatically, reducing noise, as the unit reaches its set point. Another added benefit is that there are now four independent PID settings for different temperature ranges. USB communication port is included and Labview VI examples are available.

Low Maintenance Cooling Just Got Easier

Across industries, TECA’s reliable thermoelectric coolers are the low maintenance choice for remote and hard to access areas. TECA air conditioners only ever need occasional cleaning of dust or debris off the external heat sink fins. Now, accessing the heat sink is even simpler with our innovative Pivot Clean design. The end user can simply open the external housing without having to remove it from the air conditioner. tecaLAB.com is our new website which focuses on our innovative life science products. Driven by customer needs and feedback, we have created a suite of low maintenance laboratory products designed to replace traditional water baths and ice buckets. Using tecaLAB™ products can reduce materials and data loss caused by waterborne contamination. Appropriate applications include cell culture, histology, incubation, nucleation, drug formulation, and more.

tecaLAB™ aluminum Thermal Beads™ replace ice or water in our bath products. Compared to water or ice, Thermal Beads™ are less susceptible to contamination. Industrial Heating and Cooling Plates

Three new families of solid state cold plate coolers offer the largest standard selection of high efficiency and high performance in the same compact size available. TECA’s newest thermoelectric cold plate products continue to provide reliable and maintenance free direct contact heating and cooling for general use in many industrial and OEM applications. No matter if it’s high delta T, high capacity or high efficiency cooling plates, these new products should meet your varied needs.

The AHP-400, 500 and 600 series of solid state cold plates heat and cool via reverse polarity of the input voltage using thermoelectric (Peltier) technology. Performance ratings range from 68 watts and 1.8 COP to 163 watts and .57 COP with many selections in between offering superior performance and reduced operating costs in one convenient package. Stocked configurations are for NEMA 12 environments with various mounting methods, hardware and 4 surface taps as standard features. They are all easily customized to meet your needs: tap pattern, mounting method, orientation, voltage, control and operating environment.

These cold plates can become a workhorse in many of your thermal platform applications performing brute force heating/cooling or fine temperature control of process loads, test samples, flows and electrical components in production, product testing, process management or quality control. Compact Cold Plate Cools and Heats

TECA’s newest cold plates are compact and mount in any orientation. The AHP-250CP and AHP-270CP Cold Plate Models offer 46 watts and 64 watts of cooling, respectively. Each has a generous cold plate surface of 3.5 x 4.5 inches, offering more cooling for its size than similar products. Suitable for compact spaces in industrial, OEM and other applications, these cold plates are low in vibration and noise and have a small profile. Dimensions of the AHP-250CP and AHP-270CP cold plates are the same: 6 x 4.75 x 4.4 inches and the weight of each only 3.8 pounds.

Heat function is possible via reverse polarity of the thermoelectric modules. A separate temperature controller is necessary. Mounting gasket and hardware are included as are input leads. 12 vdc and 24 vdc versions are available for each cold plate model.

Powerhouse Enclosure Cooler: Increased Cooling, Same Small Size

For enclosure cooling, TECA introduces a powerful new thermoelectric air conditioner. The AHP-690 Model design features include more compact dimensions and greater performance for the size. The AHP-690 dimensions are the same as our less powerful coolers-- a scant 10” x 6” x 8.5”-- but the AHP-690 offers 55% more cooling capacity, with 467 BTU/hr of cooling power.

Protect electronics and keep enclosures cool with the newest member of TECA’s AHP-6200 Series air conditioners. The AHP-6253 Model is a 5,115 BTU/hr air conditioner for systems with 3-phase power. TECA’s new 3-phase industrial air conditioners offer enclosure cooling with high performance and high efficiency. The AHP-6253 includes the energy saving Eco-Mode which uses 73% less energy than the active mode.

As with all of TECA’s high performance, high efficiency air conditioners, unique design features are a benefit. TECA Corporation's Stirring Cold/Hot Plate Model AHP-800MSP boasts adjustable features: stir bar speed, fan speed (for noise reduction) and temperature control (internal or external sensing). Optional sleeves make it adjustable for use with standard bottles and beakers or custom-diameter vessels. Applications include titration testing, testing of specimens, drugs and industrial chemicals and process testing in industrial or laboratory environments.

The FHP-6250 (120 VAC) and FHP-6252 (240 VAC) are energy saving air conditioner/heat exchanger products with cooling performance ratings up to 4,480 BTU/hr. These new models offer, to date, the greatest cooling performance of any flush-mounted thermoelectric air conditioner currently on the market. Both models can both heat and cool (heat via reverse polarity) and both models include the energy saving Eco-Mode which uses up to 84% less energy than the active mode.

When enclosure space is a concern, a flush mounted air conditioner is the perfect design solution. TECA’s new flush mounted thermoelectric air conditioners mount externally with no intrusion into the enclosure. Additional frames or flanges are not required. The FHP-6250 and FHP-6252 offer user-friendly installation. Both include a centrally-located power input cord, mounting gasket, large bolting flange and robust hardware. New, Compact Thermoelectric Air Conditioners

For smaller applications in any environment, TECA has designed two new thermoelectric air conditioners. The AHP-250 and AHP-270 Models improve on existing thermoelectric air conditioners for small enclosures. Design features include more compact dimensions and greater performance for the size. The AHP-250 and AHP-270 both measure 6 x 4.75 x 6.6 inches and offer 129 BTU/hr and 161 BTU/hr respectively.

Flush mounting eliminates intrusion of the air conditioner into the enclosure, saving valuable space for equipment. The FHP-3253 and FHP-3254 are designed for easy, user-friendly installation and use. Both include a centrally-located power input cord, mounting gasket, large bolting flange and robust hardware. Either can be configured for NEMA-12, NEMA-4 and NEMA-4X enclosures.

A temperature controller is built into each air conditioner. The heat exchanger (passive cooling) mode set point is 25C, the active cooling set point is 35C and in heat/cool versions, the heat set point is 10C. Heating is achieved via reverse polarity of the thermoelectric modules.

The AHP-6263 is a 3 Phase, 240 VAC air conditioner. A 250 VDC version for crane applications is also available. The AHP-6263 (like many TECA air conditioners) includes the energy saving Eco-Mode in which the AHP-6263 cools using significantly less energy than in the active mode. In Eco-Mode, the AHP-6263 cools using 86% less energy.

These new models are, to date, the largest flush-mounted thermoelectric air conditioner currently available on the market. The FHP-3252 offers 2,290 BTU/HR of cooling capacity (240 VAC input). The FHP-3250 (120 VAC input) has a cooling capacity of 1,978 BTU/hr.

Liquid Cooled Plate with Extended Temperature Range

 

TECA’s Low-Temperature Cascade systems can also heat! Expanding the availability of high temperature versions of our cold/hot plates, the LHP-1200CAS liquid cooled cascade system can now offer as wide a range as -60C to +150C (LHP-1200C31). A hinged cover is included. An integral rear panel provides power and control to the top of the cascade. As in all of our Laboratory Cold/Hot Plates, RS-232 communications and data logging software are standard.

Increased versatility in a smaller footprint! TECA is pleased to introduce a high-temperature version of the AHP-301CPV Cold/Hot Plate, which can heat up to +120C. The AHP-301CPV is the smallest of our laboratory cold/hot plates and is perfect for compact bench-top applications. TECA’s Low-Temperature Cascade systems can also heat! Now with high temperature versions available, a cascade system can boast as wide a range as -50C to +150C (AHP-1200C31). A hinged cover is included as is an integral rear panel to provide power and control to the top of the cascade. As in all of our Laboratory Cold/Hot Plates, RS-232 communications and data logging software are standard.

Our line of CPV “versatile” cold/hot plates just got a little more versatile. TECA now offers high-temperature configurations of the AHP-1200CPV Cold/Hot Plate. The high temperature plates can heat to up to +120C. The standard features which make all of our Laboratory Cold/Hot Plates so versatile are of course still included: integral temperature controller, data logging software, internal-to-external temperature switching and RS-232 communications.

Continuing our line of high-performance, high-efficiency air conditioners, TECA is excited to release the FHP-2200 series. The FHP-2200 models are to date the largest flush-mounted thermoelectric air conditioner currently available on the market, with up to 1,875 BTU/HR of cooling capacity.

For enclosures with limited space, flush-mounted air conditioners offer cooling without physical intrusion into the enclosure. TECA’s newly expanded line has the highest cooling capacity ratings in the industry, allowing for thermoelectric cooling in ever larger applications. TECA’s new air conditioners mount flush against the enclosure without the aid of additional frames or accessories. Environmental gasket and hardware are included to preserve the enclosure’s environmental integrity (closed loop cooling).

The FHP-2200 is available in a “High Efficiency” model and a “High Capacity” model. Both include the energy saving Eco-Mode which uses up to 85% less energy than the active mode.

TECA’s newest flush-mounted thermoelectric air conditioners are configured for environments including NEMA-12, NEMA-4 and NEMA-4X. Customization is available.

TECA introduces two new thermoelectric air conditioner series. The AHP-2250 and AHP-3250 boast high performance and efficiency. A unique heat exchanger mode helps save energy by limiting the need for active cooling from the thermoelectric modules. For example, the AHP-3250 uses 83% less energy in heat exchanger mode than it does in active-cooling mode. Performance ratings are the highest of any thermoelectric air conditioner currently on the market. The AHP-3250 offers 2600 BTU/hr (762 watts) cooling and 3750 BTU/hr (1,100 watts) heating capacity.

The design of both the AHP-2250 and the AHP-3250 improve upon competing air conditioners. The centrally-located power input cord, mounting gasket, large bolting flange and robust hardware provide easier, user-friendly installation. There is less intrusion into the enclosure as compared to competing thermoelectric air conditioners.

TECA introduces our largest heating and cooling plate. The AHP-1800CPV joins the VERSITILE family of laboratory solid-state cold plates (see also AHP-301CPV and AHP-1200CPV). The anodized aluminum plate surface is 13.3” x 12.8”. Like all of our VERSITILE cold plates, the AHP-1800CPV heats and cools with precision via the integral, tunable TC-4300 temperature controller. RS-232 communications and ”EasyLog” data logging software are included to run and chart multi-segment ramp/soak profiles. Integral or remote temperature sensing is possible with the flip of a switch. Universal 100-240 VAC input allows for the AHP-1800CPV to be integrated anywhere.

TECA introduces new compact high efficiency thermoelectric (Peltier) air conditioners. The compact efficient air conditioners are available in Through Mounted and Flush Mounted styles and in configurations suitable for Nema-12, Nema-4 and Nema-4X environments.

These thermoelectric cooling (Peltier cooling) devices are available in capacities ranging from 200 BTU/HR to 470 BTU/HR.

TECA is offering an exciting new product for thermal preference (thermonociception ) researchers: the Dual Cold Plate! TECA model AHP-1200DCP Dual Cold Plate can also be used in such applications as pain research, cold/hot dry wells and sample cooling & heating.

The Dual Cold Plate houses two adjacent 13.0” X 6.37” plates. Each plate is independently programmable via the integral and tunable (within +/- 0.1ºC) TC-4300 temperature controllers. RS232 communications are standard. The user can readily employ custom programming through "EazyLog" Software (included) to run and chart multi-segment ramp/soak profiles, tuning, charting and data acquisition. Each plate can be controlled from -10 °C to 80 °C. Each plate has an integrated temperature sensor. However Remote Sensibility™ for location sensitive control is standard and remote sensors are available. Also available are standard and custom sized barriers for animal subjects.

The Dual Cold Plate is well suited for laboratory use. The work surfaces are flat, smooth and cleanable. A quiet fan design reduces noise.

TECA is offering a new series of product to reach extremely low temperatures. Low temperature cascades utilize thermoelectric technology, allowing the top of the cascade surface to reach as cold as -40C! The cascade can consist of two or three stages. Each stage acts as a heat sink for the one above it. TECA offers three configurations of cascades for different performance and cooling-area surface needs.

Each cascade attaches to an AHP-1200CPV(Part # 9-35EB-1-CAS). Cold Plate which is specially designed to work with the cascade.

The TC-4300 is a tunable controller within a tolerance of + 0.1ºC. RS232 communications are standard.
