Shown here is a prototype cooling solution for an outdoor payment device. Located in a desert environment, overheating is a big issue in the summer months. TECA’s AHP-270XE serves the requirement nicely. The energy saving “ECO mode” control feature means that passive cooling is utilized as temperatures rise. Only in the highest demand time does the active cooling component turn on. The AHP-270XE’s small size is ideal, leaving enough room inside the enclosure for other components. A chemical analysis service provider used TECA’s thermoelectric air conditioner as part of a larger system. The end user required copper heat sinks instead of aluminum heat sinks. TECA provided this modification to a standard product, the AHP-270XE. This is one example of modifications TECA can accommodate, including black anodizing of aluminum parts, using 316 stainless steel instead of 304, and much more. TECA Model AHP-451XE Peltier coolers are protecting over a dozen customized bill-pay kiosks. This example illustrates the power of TECA’s smaller air conditioner models. With just over a 100 Watts of cooling power, the AHP-451XE is meeting the thermal requirements of this fairly large (over 4’ tall) kiosk. Housing heat sensitive equipment including computing core, printer, imager, and a 15” LCD touchscreen, this kiosk is exposed to high ambient temperatures as well.

Video cameras needed to function in an environment beyond their rated temperature range.

One of our customers wanted to position cameras to observe a process from a location not safe for operators to go. The customer is a rubber manufacturer and the camera location was too hot for the cameras to work in. The customer had the cameras, but had no suitable enclosure, or cooling apparatus.

TECA adapted a tiny air conditioner based on Model AHP150XE to mount to a standard commercial enclosure. The package was completed by retrofitting the cameras with insulation and special cooling units. The design satisfied our customer’s needs to a “T”.
